Formerly known as Stunnaman of Bay Area rap group The Pack, Jahlil Nzinga has evolved from music into a multidisciplinary visual artist whose work now moves across painting, fashion, objects and culture.

This past weekend, WILL PAINT FOR CASH touched down in San Francisco for a special pop-up experience from Oakland-born, Los Angeles-based artist Jahlil Nzinga.

Hosted at SVRN San Francisco on Fillmore Street, the event brought together art, apparel and community under Nzinga’s unmistakable WILL PAINT FOR CASH identity.

For longtime Bay Area followers, Nzinga’s story carries another layer. Before establishing himself in the contemporary art world, he was known as Stunnaman, a member of influential Bay Area group The Pack, alongside Lil B, Young L and Lil Uno. His transition into visual art has carried the same independent Bay Area energy into an entirely different medium.

ART MEETS UNIFORM

WILL PAINT FOR CASH sits somewhere between an artist statement and a uniform.

The phrase has grown beyond a graphic into a recognizable extension of Nzinga’s creative world, connecting fine art, apparel, design and street-level presentation.

For San Francisco, the return carried extra meaning.

This wasn’t simply an artist visiting another city. It was an Oakland-born creative returning to the Bay, bringing years of evolution—from music to painting and multidisciplinary design—back to familiar territory.

EVENT IN MOTION

The night carried the same Bay Area crossover energy that has followed Nzinga throughout his career. Footage from the event features DJ Shabazz and Lil B, with Hennessy supporting the night as a sponsor.
