Sonic the Hedgehog is taking decades of speed, sound, and gaming history from the screen to the stage with Sonic Live in Concert, arriving at the San Jose Civic on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Presented as part of Sonic’s 35th anniversary celebration, the live experience revisits some of the most recognizable moments and music from across the franchise’s history. The production brings the music to life through an ensemble featuring live musicians, electronic elements, singers, and a rock band, all synchronized with footage from the games.

From Sonic and Tails to Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, and the wider cast that helped shape the franchise, the concert serves as a celebration of a video-game series that has crossed generations since Sonic first arrived in 1991.

35 Years of Sonic

What began as Sega’s high-speed platformer developed into one of gaming’s most recognizable franchises, expanding across generations of consoles, animation, films, merchandise, music, and global pop culture.

Music has always played an especially important role in Sonic’s identity. The franchise has moved between electronic compositions, energetic rock records, orchestral arrangements, and character themes that became nearly as recognizable as the games themselves.
