Pusha T and Pharrell Williams are giving one of hip-hop’s most recognizable words a new meaning. More than two decades after “Grindin’” became a defining Clipse record, the longtime collaborators have officially introduced Grindin’ Coffee, developed in partnership with Italian coffee institution Lavazza.
The concept connects directly to the pair’s creative routine: early mornings, black coffee and long studio sessions built around discipline and output. What began as fuel for the work has now become the product itself.
FROM THE STUDIO TO THE CUP
Pusha T has traced the idea back to the sessions for It’s Almost Dry, when he and Pharrell would be up around 5 a.m. in Miami, reach for black coffee or the strongest espresso available, then lock into hours of music before getting on their bikes. That ritual became the foundation for a coffee label aimed at the same kind of early risers, late-night workers and people with something to execute.
Grindin’ Coffee touches down in Torino.
TORINO MAKES SENSE
The partnership lands with Lavazza, the Italian roaster founded in Torino in 1895. That history gives the rollout a fitting setting: more than a century of Italian coffee craft meeting a creative partnership that has helped shape hip-hop and contemporary culture for decades.
THE GRIND NEVER STOPPED
The launch arrives with dark and medium roast coffees, offered as both whole bean and ground. The naming is more than a callback. Grindin’ Coffee turns the energy behind Pusha T and Pharrell’s 2002 classic into a physical ritual, one designed for mornings that start early and nights that end late.
From the beat to the bean, the grind never stopped.
