The Project

Another Day Another Dollar reunites Payroll Giovanni and Cardo Got Wings, whose collaboration connects Detroit’s street-rap perspective with Cardo’s production identity. The title is a plainspoken description of the work cycle: progress is something pursued repeatedly, not a single finish line. It also links directly back to their appearance on the previous year’s Game Related.

This album deserves its own place in the KOLAK chronology because the partnership is now the main event. Larry June and HBK helped make Game Related a wider meeting of voices; here the focus narrows to Payroll and Cardo. Its release creates a bridge between Payroll’s 2020 solo work and the broader collaborations that shape the rest of the archive.
