Erykah Badu is set to celebrate three decades of Baduizm with a special docked performance at the Port of Miami, opening the inaugural Soul on the Sea cruise before it heads into the Caribbean in 2027.

Thirty years of Baduizm

The anniversary performance places Badu’s 1997 debut at the center of a larger multi-generation R&B and hip-hop experience. Baduizm helped define her arrival and became a key album in the rise of neo-soul, with records such as “On & On” establishing a sound that continues to influence artists, fashion and visual culture decades later.

Soul on the Sea is scheduled for April 12–17, 2027 aboard the Norwegian Joy, sailing from Miami with stops in Cozumel and Great Stirrup Cay. The announced lineup also includes Boyz II Men, SWV, Keyshia Cole, October London, De La Soul, Raheem DeVaughn and Big Daddy Kane, with additional artists expected.

The event arrives as music experiences continue to move beyond the traditional concert format. Cruises, destination shows, pop-ups and anniversary performances create a deeper setting around an artist’s catalog, giving fans both nostalgia and a new cultural moment around familiar work.

Past Rose Tours cruisers receive first access when presale opens Friday, September 18 at noon ET, with general sales beginning Monday, September 21 at noon ET.
