October 19, 2026 — San Francisco, California.

The Bay Area is keeping the WNBA Finals close to home, both on the court and through the music. The Golden State Valkyries return to Chase Center tonight for Game 2 against the Atlanta Dream, with Bay Area artist LaRussell scheduled to perform at halftime.

GAME 2 — BACK IN BALLHALLA

Golden State holds a 1–0 advantage after taking the opening game 68–64 on October 17. Gabby Williams scored 26 points, while the team's collective defensive work and second-chance opportunities helped seal a late turnaround. Game 2 begins Monday at 5:00 p.m. Pacific at Chase Center, with coverage on USA and Peacock.

THE BAY AREA SOUNDTRACK

Following Larry June's halftime appearance in Game 1, the entertainment lineup puts another local voice on a national stage. LaRussell is slated for the Game 2 halftime performance, with Too Short scheduled for the pregame drum ceremony and Alanis Morissette for the national anthem.

It is a crossover of sports and the creative world that surrounds them: music, local identity, independent culture and a city turning a championship series into something larger than basketball.

WHAT KOLAK IS WATCHING

For the KOLAK Archive Scout, the story is as much about the Bay's creative presence as the result on the scoreboard. Larry June and LaRussell represent different lanes of Northern California music, both finding a place within the Valkyries' historic Finals run. With Game 2 still ahead at the time of publication, this is a preview — not a performance recap.
