Nike and One Piece bring the world of Devil Fruits into Air Max design, translating three of the manga’s most recognizable powers into a reworked Air Max Plus collection built around color, texture and character.

The collaboration centers on three Air Max Plus expressions inspired by the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Ope Ope no Mi and Mera Mera no Mi. Rather than treating the project as a simple graphic treatment, Nike says each silhouette uses a completely retooled upper exclusive to the collection. Jerseys and caps pull from the Air Max Plus archive, extending the concept beyond footwear.
The apparel side moves deeper into the source material. T-shirts reference Monkey D. Luffy’s Jolly Roger and reinterpret manga illustrations through the visual language of classic Nike advertising, while a vest draws from the Devil Fruits’ relationship with the sea.
That crossover is what makes the project particularly relevant to the KOLAK Archive: sneaker design, manga, sport and global street culture are treated as one connected visual system. The rollout also moved through cities including Tokyo, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Milan, London and San Diego before the September 25 global SNKRS launch.
Nike first announced the collection on August 23 and updated its release on September 2. The global launch date is September 25, 2026.
